Wed 17 Oct 2012 - 5:11
I know we've had numerous threads about it, but none of them have been really that in depth as for reasoning for your greatest MC's/duo's/group list, so I figured this thread could be your top 35 of greatest MC's and your favourite 10 Groups/Duo's

Don't have the patience for the solo list, I'll attempt the top 10 duo/group though.
Not in order except for #1.
1. Native Tongues (Specifically ATCQ)
2. C.L. Smooth/Pete Rock
3. Wu Tang
4. Hieroglyphics
5. Organized Konfusion
6. Ultramagnetic MC's
7. Killarmy
8. OutKast
9. DITC
10. Gang Starr
I hate doing these lists cause I always feel like I'm leaving out many other great people that deserve mentions tbh.

So The Jokerr is on your list, but not Eminem or Big L or Gang Starr? You honestly think he is a better rapper than Eminem / Big L / Gang Starr? If so, please explain why in complete detail. I'm curious to see an actual reason.

The Jokerr has speed, more varitation, a more interesting persona, puts out quality music at a quicker pace and didn't sell out after his third album and start making mediocre pop-rap for the rest of his career.
That and I just like Jokerr's music more.

This. Just can't do it.
Hilltop Hoods, Wu-Tang, and Organized Konfusion would definitely be up there though.

Most of mine is based of revolutionary aspects, Ice Cube pretty much started Gangsta Rap, along with NWA obviously, Tech has never done anything of the sort.
Although, he is an impeccable artist, his music is creative and interesting, and his flow is just off the fucking scales.
But Tech ain't got shit in terms of cultural impact, apart from getting called a Devil Worshiper.

This is very true.
My list was made roughly, based on artists I'm currently listening too/listen to more.
I lot of you dispute my decision of Tupac, but to me, he is the greatest.
Preferences and shit.
I had a list of 100, but decided I was just doing filler after I hit 75, so I stopped.
