GOTY, but ive yet to play Dishonored, Sleeping Dogs & Far Cry 2.

Haven't finished Absolution yet, going through the game and getting silent assassin on all levels. I'm a bit disappointed, but I do like it. Just doesn't feel like a Hitman game, the disguises are completely fucked up for the most part. Not being able to blend properly in, ect. That's not a Hitman game - and quite a lot of the fans feel the same way. It's like... more of a linear action game.

Rasmus Højengaard directed all of the games, I think, until now. This explains the new direction. Not feeling it.

Far Cry 3 on the other hand, is fucking good. Real good.

it was the first Hitman i fully completed, the blending in pissed me off, some levels were just straight bullshit, they see the back of me for like 1 second and they instantly shoot at me, what the fuck? Loved the action though.

Hated Far Cry 2, but #3 looks really good.

They completely butchered the disguise functionality in Absolution. Like Frankie said, it's a good game... but it's not a traditional Hitman experience at all. I haven't beaten it yet, but I'm having a lot of fun while trying to ignore the minor annoyances.

Far Cry 3 looks fucking sweet. But I have one MAJOR complaint... no vehicles in multiplayer - WHAT THE FUCK!?! That severely limits the amount of creativity you can apply in the map editor. I was voted as having one of the top 10 maps of all time for Far Cry: Instincts Predator by xbox magazine, so this is kind of a big deal to me. However, pretty much anyone that ever played Far Cry is complaining about the lack of vehicles in MP... so maybe there's a slim chance they will add them later.

I feel like Hitman is forcing me to shoot everything.

Yup. They changed the whole flow of the game with the messed up disguises, and by taking away the briefcase. I'm definitely having fun with the game... but it's not what it should have been. Why am I finding C4 charges in random places on every map? Who the hell is leaving this C4 all over the place? Same goes for sniper rifles. There should have been a custom loadout customization option before the start of each level. Also, why are enemies able to tell I'm an imposter by looking at the back of my head for 2 seconds from 20 meters away while I have a hat on... it just doesn't make sense and it pulls me out of the game.

Agree with everything you said. I really am not having much fun because it's impossible to play the way I want to.

Just finished Heavy Rain which is possibly one of the greatest gaming experiences I've had. Now I'm gonna play Dead Rising 2:Off The Record!(i got both games for just 20 on ebay)

In the other Hitman games you could visit your safe house in between each mission and choose your loadout (C4, primary + secondary weapons, etc.). You would begin each mission with a brief case that you could store things in.

In the new Hitman game you don't get to choose your loadout and there is no brief case. Want C4? Find it randomly placed in the level. Want a sniper rifle? Find it randomly placed in the level. It makes no sense. Why am I finding stacks of C4 charges sitting out in the open on crowded streets? lol, so dumb.

This. And then they try to play it off in the story, him giving his briefcase away... what's stopping him from getting another one? I don't like how they played it out.

Hitman was never about hiding behind things, jumping from cover-to-cover. It was about blending in with your enemies/targets right out in the open. Why change this? I'm pretty sure fans would have been happy if you could only change your disguise 3 times in a level. That's another thing, why the fuck are the levels split up into sections? When I get so far into a level, why the hell can I not go back to the start? What is with this checkpoint bullshit?

It's disappointing a bit... especially coming from these guys. There's no way I'd give this GOTY.

Well that what they did was fucked up, but what pisses me off the most is how easily you can be seen, gonna buy the HD collection when it comes out, i was actually going into the game expecting to be stealthy 24/7 but it came out differently. Although on professional you die straight away if you get spotted, unless you are in a lucky "position" so to speak.
