BF3 Sells 5 MILLION In 1st WEEK.

Despite experiencing more than a few teething problems with its servers, Battlefield 3 has managed to bust records, selling a staggering five million copies in its first week on sale. That's units actually sold rather than shipped, pushing the series units sold up to a total of 50 million since its inception in 2002.

"From Tokyo to Los Angeles, Sydney to London, millions of fans have been playing all weekend long - we are overwhelmed by the global response to Battlefield 3," said Patrick Soderlund , Executive VP of the EA Games Label. "It is extremely gratifying to deliver an entertainment experience that delights our fans, and to have the opportunity to introduce new people to the franchise. Already, we are seeing unprecedented play times and online activity which is very rewarding. This launch solidifies Battlefield as a leading entertainment brand."

Battlefield 3 has been busy online too, with fans executing 73 million saviour kills, 48 million revives and 67 million vehicles destroyed. We rather liked Battlefield 3, and so have 5 million others apparently.

I think it will be either right around the same or a little better. In my opinion. I like both games, but COD a little more. and Call of Duty still has a pretty big fan base, and a lot of dick riders lol.

Yeah there are COD dick riders everywhere... shits crazy. I think Black Ops sold 5 million copies on the 1st day, so MW3 will do around the same if not better. I think alot of people are getting both games this time around tho. A few analysts were saying around 70% of people will get both games.

I prefer BF gameplay over COD gameplay, but at the end of the day I like both games.

I don't fucking know lol, I just quote the assholes. I'd say around 50% of their predictions are total bullshit. Why 50%? Because 50 can also be 50 cent, who makes Vitamin water, which is a liquid, people drink liquid while playing games, therefore... 50%.

I hate cod. but im not one of those fanboy dudes.

CoD has gotten old, as much as I love BF3 I know it will get old. Going back to Halo 3 when it does tbh, the only real FPS with some good replay value for me.

halo 3 will always smash....good for BF honestly any threat in gaming markets = more competition and incentive to create great games
