How do you go about writing your lyrics?

Well, there is obviously MC's on here, including myself but the platforms on which we write lyrics have changed dramatically in the past 10 years.

Personally, I usually write on the a piece of paper, especially when I'm doing personal songs, then later go type it up, so I have a back up in case I lose my rhyme book or it gets stolen.
Sometimes if I don't have a piece of paper I'll write on a napkin, in fact the other day I wrote a verse on a Cornetto wrapper that had been left in my Mum's car by my little brother 3 weeks earlier.

What do you WRITE on?

Ive never used anything but a normal ringed notebook i dont understand how people could do that shit on their phone efficiently.i think of my best shit when i dont have anything though and then i forget it.i recomend watching the eminem 60 minutes episode he talks about that he has like crates of random rhymes he never used

I usually do it on my computer, or write it down on my iPod if I have it with me. if not, I just keep rapping it in my head till I can find a place to write it down, haha.

also, most of my punchlines are taken from other raps where most of it is whack, but a few lines are really good.

I think writing on paper rather than typing it is more effective for some reason.

Possibly, because it feels more natural in terms of sentimental value.

I already have, btw.

Been writing songs for ½ a year now (still havent recording anything) and I started on paper. But it is just much easier on computer IMO. I once lost a paper and therefore moved to computer.

Physically writing on paper increases memory retention.

I write in my rhymebook during recess and lunch.

I always write songs out on notebooks or whatever is handy. At times I will type it just because it's a lot faster for me. But I end up rewriting it on paper later. Actually right now I write in this awesome Southern Comfort notebook I got for free at a garage sale, love this thing.

I always spill Kool-Aid on my notebooks, so it is smart to transfer to pc.

I usually spill coffee on rhyme books...lol...

When I wake up in the middle of the night and have some inspiration, I'll whip out my notebook and just write song after song at 3 am or whatever time I wake up, then go back to bed.
But I transfer it onto the computer, in case I lose a book.

Writing them. I have 3 or 4 composition books and a few mini-pads I write in. They are all held in a 3-ring binder. My pages look like a math teachers chalk board though lol. I get really side tracked with certain rhyme schemes or patterns and start writing more and more bars. I use the front halfs of books for notes, punchlines, figuring out rhyme scheme and general ideas. The back halfs are used for writing songs after I know exactly how I want them to come out.

on my computer or on my android i only write to a beat i cant just randomly write idunno im weird like that
