If a picture's worth a thousand words I'll paint a thousand pictures
To symbolize the decibel levels bred of a thousand whispers
I'm the lowest form of human being, for being different
For being gifted, for feeling iffy about writing verses with no meaning
We went from pyramids to the ghetto
Still my sounds make devils tumble like the walls of Jherico
When you look at me and my brothers what's your first impression?
Does the sight of us leave you guessing or do you understand the stressing?
The aggression, the look of no hope on me and my niggas faces
Like the lord overlooked us when he handed down his graces
To symbolize the decibel levels bred of a thousand whispers
I'm the lowest form of human being, for being different
For being gifted, for feeling iffy about writing verses with no meaning

"I'm intellectual, pass more essays/Than motorcade police parades through East L.A"
- Pharoahe Monch [Play on the word “essay” vs. “esé” (as in a slang term for Mexicans). He is claiming to be smart (“passing essays” as though he were in school), but also using the play on words to complete the metaphor. He claims to pass more essays than police pass esés (Mexicans) in east L.A. (a predominantly hispanic-populated area)]

This is one of my top 5 songs of all time :D
'It's like bringin' a knife to a gunfight. Pen to a test. Your chest in the line of fire with your thin-ass vest. You bringin' them boys to men, how them boys gonna win? This is grown man BI. Get you rolled into triage, Biiiatch.'
That song is way better than Ether. Idc what anyone says. I don't even need to mention the beat, but the Door's sample is so fucking legit. My favorite band of all time + my favorite rapper... Wooo that shit is really fire

Agree. Both beat, flow and lyrics are better in Takeover. Ether is overhyped imo.DGCK wrote:Chokey wrote:You said you been in this ten

Ether was only better because of the circumstances of when it was dropped and the things that nas addressed during that time. If nas responded now Jay would've won. Jay-Z himself admitted that ether was the better diss though.

Them? Flashing lights and fast cars
Us? Gas masks, flash mobs
Riots in Time Square, see when the educated is unemployed it's unfair
With no visa I'll devise an escape
Young Cesar, rise of the apes
On the top of a police car pose like the Heisman
Throwing fire bombs at a Next song advertisement
We are on that "check, check" shit
They are socially disconnected, from the youth get ferally disrespected
See, monkeys receive minimal information
So this, that's subliminal renegade shit
For the criminal minded who are tired of slave shit..
That Martin Luther King slang sling free speech
Shit, you need to learn no text re-tweet.
this whole VERSE.

He doesn't get credited enough for introducing stuff like that either. I could post the whole verse from Amplified Sample for this thread.
