Listen to various rappers and analyse as much as you can before you attempt anything. Then just try freestyling and write everything down even if it sucks, then try to improve it. Repeat process.

There's a shitload of rappers in the world so you have to put in effort if you want to even stand a chance..

Read this book titled, "How To Rap" by Paul Edwards.

It has a ton of legendary hip hop artists interviews and commentaries.

Read this about 2 years ago, very informative.
Although, it only really helped my live performance and what I did in the studio.
