Radio 1

So here in the UK, without a single doubt, Radio 1 is the biggest Radio channel, listened to by at least 6-700,000 people daily on their way to work, way home, on lunch etc.

Yesterday i heard Angel Haze on there while driving home, and this morning (9am here right now) i heard Kendrick Lamar on there. Both of these, i've got to admit, have shocked me a bit. We really, REALLY, don't get music like this over here usually and i never thought i'd hear someone me and my pals listen to, from the U.S, who aren't really even that well known at all, being played pretty much to the masses here in the U.K.

Anyone else here from the U.K and find it strange that this stuff is on Radio 1?

i was in the shop once, and they were playing the radio and they played SLACKER by Tech

i went crazy. lol.

But i never listen to the radio, so yeah.

Radio 1 here is listened to by most of the country, so it's pretty crazy to hear these guys playing on there.

I went crazy when they started talking about Nas on there (even though I don't really like Nas). Greg James has a good taste in music!

And they were playing Swimming Pools by Kendrick Lamar on one of the music channels on Sky and that got me super excited too!

Ah yeah man it was Greg James playing it, he played 'New York' by Angel Haze, and 'Swimming Pools' by Kendrick Lamar, instantly recognised both and it was pretty cool.

If i hear any of FV on Radio 1 over here i'd blow a fuse in excitement, that's some serious coverage.

Yeah I would go crazy too. I met Greg James and Russell Kane twice in person. They are both nice guys too (no homo), especially Greg

That's so strange lol. I can't imagine a world like this!

Radio 1 is probably the largest channel over here in the U.S. too, but in my city at least, it still plays horrible music 24/7, good for you guys though that your gettin at least something.
