People who were close to The Jokerr and are needed to help him with the completion of The Maestro video had a tragedy in the family, so he had to put TOD on hold because he's not releasing it until the Music Video is released for promotional purposes.

However, I listened to his album / mixtape "Mayhem Night" and I thought it was excellent. The Jokerr can definitely rap his ass off. And he gets extra points because his song "There With You" is the 1st non-rap song I've given a shit about in YEARS.

I'd be really interested to hear a review from you Hopsin 2

Also, on his album "Confirmation Collection Vol. 1" there are many other singing songs that I'm sure you'd like as much or almost as much as There With You.

I really respect that you stepped of the box and gave him a chance btw.

This guy's insanely corny. I don't know what you mean by skill wise because the dude can't rap for shit. I don't listen to him and think 'OMG BARZ, DUDE KILLIN IT'. I've done that with in one or two songs of every FV artist. And sometimes his harmonics are way off. Like when he overlays tracks of his voice. I think it's cool and all but he does it with absolutely no clue what sounds right, henceforth, it coming out sounding terribly wrong. Mathematically his music is not good. It sounds to me like, in his head, he knows what sounds good but he doesn't have the ability to get the music from his brain to the track. A lot of his stuff is unoriginal he just has such a distinct image that no one is going to realize it or listen close enough to be like... hey this sounds just like another song I've heard, but with other songs I've heard mixed in with it.

You must have never heard this song or any of his other songs like this. This song is extremely lyrical and is the definition of bars. And Hopsin's corny too, but it doesn't mean he's a bad rapper.

That was definitely good. I'll give it up for 'em there. This does not change anything for me though.
I just can't stand when MCs are only rapping about how good they can rap (everyone does it too). It's paradoxical. All his other songs are emotional and filled with substance but they aren't good or raps.

I'm going to go ahead and say I am somewhat impressed by this even though it's hardly top-tier.

It's a "good" rhyme-scheme but nothing amazing. It has OKish tools and though it has its puns and punchlines... Every time he uses a simile he says "LIKE", creating the blatant link of wordplay. (Examples, "Like carnivorous bird claws... "beautiful LIKE soothing music in an herbal massage.... Sell an image LIKE television... IM LIKE verbal science fiction.")

The multi-syllable rhyme pattern on the 4th and 8th measure is nothing special and he keeps to topic for a bar or two. "Lives get shattered, wives get batter, and minds get splattered" - That's not hard.. I could really pick it apart but from a normal stand-point it's a "good song" sure. Maybe I'm too harsh.

As far as Mayhem Night, I've completed the album since you first said to check it out. (Skits were skipped.) That was honestly very lackluster. I wanted to like some of the songs but they just couldn't keep me interested. It was like sitting there hearing something I didn't want to be listening to. "Slap Happy" and "Here We Go" almost got me. There with You, This Mayhem, and Im Grewsum were almost unbearable. The others were poop. I'm not feelin this guy.

You make some valid points, but I think a lot of them are very harsh. You could point out flaws in pretty much any song if you go into detail like that.

Also, you must not be into singing songs because anyone who respects the art of singing would respect and enjoy songs like There With You and songs like this:

I'm not saying that you should be into it and that it's a bad thing if you don't like it because some people are just not into that kind of stuff and stricly like rap songs which is totally fine. Everyone has different opinions and views on music and what they like.

Lol, I don't think Hopsin is anywhere near one of the top rappers. He's got potential but I'm the kind of guy that points out the same shit in his music.

In regards to this song, can you not tell he is mono-toned? I love singing. My entire family does something musical, both of my little sisters are singers and my dad was a guitar/vocalist for a living (not that you care, just saying I grew up around it). Anyone of them would say this is average at best.

My favorite bands/artists don't even relate to rap at all lol.

While I strongly disagree with some of your opinions and I think subconciously you already decided to hate this album before you listened to it.... props for at least listening to it all the way through and not just saying "fuck The Jokerr" (like I did for the longest time, lol).

Amazing Grace is supposed to be mono-toned and it only shows a part of what he has to offer as a singer. He has many other songs that use various forms of singing and are excellent imo. This was just one example of what he has to offer.
