Tech N9ne again, Yelawolf, Rittz, Slaughterhouse (Or any of the members separately), of course Eminem-- although I doubt that'd happen... T.I., Krizz Kaliko, & Ces Cru... All I can think of as of right now.

Hell yeah Promise NYC is dope! I heard of him when Hopsin said he was his favorite rapper in the underground. Glad I checked him out.

Promise NYC is probably the dumbest rapper in the history of the underground. He's such a good rapper but barely puts out music and rejected Hopsin's offer to join FV. I don't get it. Nobody knows who he is and he barely has any fans but if he would have joined FV a year ago when Hop wanted him to, he'd probably have 50,000-100,000 facebook fans right now

Doesn't want to ride other rappers coattails (Like others who shall remain nameless) I respect him for that honestly.

Yes, I do respect when artists do that. But he had a chance to sign with one of the biggest underground labels in Hip Hop with a huge fanbase. I understand rappers not wanting to ride other rappers' success becuse they want to do it their own way. But, Promise is not making any moves or anything (Not releasing music videos or any music). It just boggles my mind.

I don't think he really cares, he doesn't really want to make it big, just wants to put out dope music when he can. Give something that the people can listen to if they want. If they don't so be it, he isn't worried about it, he's cool with where he's at.

I respect that, but I think that anyone with that much talent shouldn't be selfish and should be trying to use it to change as many lives as possible through music. All i'm saying is, if I were him, I'd either be on a label or be working my ass off to become successful on my own.

I don't think it's about being selfish though. I think it's more like a "I've given up attitude" because with the way the internet and social media plays a role in todays music, everyone is out there trying to become "the next big thing" when in reality maybe 2% of them people will ever make in the Mainstream. While the others are working their ass off putting out the dopest music, trying to inspire but will never get recognized because it doesn't fit in with the "Mainstream" society these days.
Sorry to go off topic a little bit, back onto Promise, he sees this and feels he won't ever get that on his own, but he also doesn't want to be known as someone riding off of someone else's accolades. So he has basically "given up" I wish he would do the same thing, put out more music, make more moves etc... but that takes money, resources, everything, a lot of hard work. Some rappers just don't have it, so he doesn't really care about making it big anymore.
Street Light is just starting to get the ball rolling, he's been putting in the effort though. And we are seeing that work finally pay off. Maybe Promise could look to him as an inspiration!

True, but that is a terrible attitude to have especially with all the talent he has. And Promise is a much better developed and quality rapper then Street Light is. I just wish he'd try harder to make it, but it's his life. I would probably be a big fan of him if he put out more music and had an actual fanbase.

Promise NYC has said multiple times that he doesn't want fame and that he raps for entertainment to make himself feel good, he also said that NEARLY NO ONE has ever heard his true potential as a rapper and that he doesn't even try most of the time... most of us may not understand his mentality and think it's crazy how he just wants to be a normal guy with a normal life but maybe that's just how he feels as of right now.
Yes I do wish he was more active and involved in hip hop and tried to display his skills more to everyone but then again that's selfish of me. Let him be happy if this is the way he wants to be for now.. I kind of know how he feels.
