Worlds first hip hop trading cards

The Platinum League Trading Card Series will release the world’s first hip-hop trading cards with interactive content on May 1st. The decks will be available for purchase in more than 20,000 retail stores nationwide, including Wal-Mart, Target, Hot Topic, Meijer, and Toys R Us.

Set to include exclusive content from about 100 artists and a chance to win amazing prizes, each pack of trading cards will feature one-of-a-kind photos of today’s greatest hip-hop artists with their individual background information, career highlights, and a QRL code link to an exclusive video message from each artist via smartphone or mobile device.

Within these pack of cards will be a ’6th Card’ that gives consumers an access code to log-on a mobile web site and sweepstakes to claim instant prizes that range from new cars, cash, apparel, Rolex watches and much more. With a winner in every pack, the company projects to give away 3-million prizes every three months.

In order to participate in these sweepstakes, smartphone users must download Platinum League’s exclusive mobile app, “The League” Media Player and scan the QRL codes on each trading card. Those without smartphones can still enter on the Platinum League‘s company website.
