THE friends of a teenager who was killed while train surfing have described him as being "vibrant, outgoing" and with a "heart of gold."

Concord teenager Jacob Anderson, 17, affectionately known as Jezebel, is believed to have been train surfing when he knocked his head in the tunnel of Lewisham Railway Station on Friday night.

His mother Kate Bowman posted an emotional plea on his Facebook page yesterday morning asking for anyone with information on her son's death to contact her.

"I am his mum and I do know but I would really like to find out more so if anyone can contact me I would be really grateful," she wrote.

The teenager, who turned 17 in January, was on his way home from Strathfield when the incident occurred.

The teen's friends flooded his Facebook page with emotional tributes yesterday.

"You are the nicest person to ever roam the earth, you were always so happy," Esther Ju wrote.

Len Tsoromokos wrote: "Muffles I loved you so much you were so happy and I loved that, you were special and beautiful and I'm really going to miss you so very much."

Police were called to the station at 11.50pm on Friday after a male's body was found on the tracks.

"The result of a post-mortem will assist police in determining the circumstances leading up to his death," a NSW police spokesman said.

Asked to confirm claims that the teen was train surfing, the spokesman said: "It is part of the investigation."

Two months ago, Tre Toman, 18, from Abbotsford was killed by a train at the same station while he was spraying graffiti in a railway tunnel.
