US Troops burned Korans in Afghanistan

Angry Afghans sift through the remains of Korans that US troops had tried to burn.


More than 2,000 rioters vented their rage yesterday at the American airbase in
Bagram, throwing petrol bombs and rocks.


US forces responded by firing rubber bullets. American General John R Allen
launched an investigation and issued a grovelling apology. He insisted the
burning was a mistake.


US troops had feared the holy books were being used by Taliban prisoners to
send messages to each other.

I'd like to see what these looked like...If they look anything like our bible then I'd lean toward it being intentional...But if they are just little cheaply made books then its a different story. We can't read their scribbles...Shit it is possible that some insurgents were passing messages along.

yeah this is fucking stupid like its hard to even state my opinion shit like this pisses me off to the max. Yes i can see why they could get upset and protest. I do not fucking understand what blowing up innocent people over a copy of books being destroyed. I am sure they were passing messages and got caught so they retaliated what else could the troops do otherwise? nothing... This never ending war is costing us to much smdh
