MW3 Smashes WORLD RECORD.

Love it or hate it, but the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 bandwagon is still rolling and has plenty of steam to spare by the looks of things. According to GamesIndustry.biz, GameStop has managed to sell 600,000 copies of Call of Duty: Elite in the US alone, making it one of the year's top ten title, whereas MW3 has been smashing records left, right and centre.

Here's some more to add to the list following the game's first day sales of 6.5 million to make it the third consecutive year as a record-breaking entertainment launch, worth over $400 million. MW3 has gone on to become the holder of the new five-day entertainment record, with worldwide sell-through of more than $775 million, shattering the theatrical box office record in movies, book sales and video games sold.

Black Ops did $650 million during the same period last year, while Modern Warfare 2 managed $550 million in its first five days. “With $775 million of sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in its first five days, Call of Duty has become the first entertainment property in history to set five-day launch records for three consecutive years across all forms of entertainment,” said Acti CEO, Bobby Kotick. “Life-to-date retail sales for the Call of Duty franchise have exceeded $6 billion worldwide, which makes Call of Duty one of the most valuable entertainment properties in the world."

MW3 also set a new franchise record for the most simultaneous players online on the PlayStation Network. “In just over a week, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been hugely successful on PlayStation 3, and continues to drive millions of gamers globally to PlayStation Network with its unprecedented and engaging online multiplayer experience," said Jack Tretton, SCEA President and CEO.

Complete with sub-par single player modes, call of duty successfully robs you of 60 dollars every 8 months or so, and will continue to do so until video games cease to exist. Gears of War is tps.

There's plenty of great fps games. You just don't hear as much about them.


And tbh, a lot of current rpgs are really just fps games with rpg features.
