Arkade...The bud is like the flower bud. But it clusters up into a huge bug that stems off of the main stock in the middle. Once it matures (Usually 3-4months) you pick these buds off of the plant and cut the leaves off. Then you dry it out (The only wet weed you can smoke to my knowledge is called Blueberry Afghan), once its tried you smoke it. If you want to smoke a joint or blunt then you gotta break up the bud into tiny little pieces then roll them up. If your smoking a bowl you can just stick it in and smoke it.

Bongs are very simple. You put water in the bottom (Not too much or too little) and the smoke passes through the stem, into the water, then up into your lungs. Below is a picture. Bongs are good to smoke with because they filter out a lot of the bad carcinogens that are in weed.

3-4 months from seed and eating wet bud is more productive than smoking it...

Once the flowering stage is initiated most strains finish between 6-12 weeks although some sativas can go longer but most strains these days are hybrids (a cross between indicas and sativas)

I smoke about 1.5 to 2g a week on average out of my 1ft mini bong or with buckets. I've never liked smoking joints it just feels like a waste to me.
