negging (punishment) Empty negging (punishment)

if someone gets negged too many times, can there be some sort of punishment for it?

for example

-10 =infraction/warning

-20 =1 day ban

-30 = 3 day ban

doesn't have to be anything exactly like that but something similar?
like arkade got alot of negs, its obvious he is a trolololol. just saying

I should also mention there isn't really a neg/rep limit.

there should be some type of waiting period.

on the Canibus site you get I think 7 reps/negs, if you rep someone you must wait 2 days before repping them again. that works pretty well because its limited, people won't just go around passing out negs n reps everywhere

I like the idea, but the 3 strikes and you're out work perfectly.

I think Arkade would be on his second strike?

Would you guys prefer it if there were a limit to how many people you could "rep" a day?

As to what Lube said; yes, that works perfectly. First strike - one week ban. Second strike after the first ban - one month ban. Third strike - perma-ban.

A bit much, but here's hoping they'll (the member that get's banned) will take the hint first time around. The rules are there for a reason. Don't want to read over them? That's your problem, as soon as you cross the line - you get banned. Simple. Thumbs Up

Frankie YES!!!!!!!!!!

Limit one rep for each user each day. That way friends can not rep each other higher, or enemies rep each other extremely lower each day. Its going to get abused, I guarantee u that...If I could rep each person on this site only once a day I'm sure I'd make those votes count.

Just like YouTube you only get one vote per video...and Facebook you only get one like...We have to limit it.

Lets get rid of the negs....just allow reps...Seems like they are almost canceling each other out...I feel bad for some of these members tbh.

I think if people would use it properly and not neg just to troll (or whatever stupid reason) then we would be good.

Maybe if there was a way to track who reps/negs and when they do it?

If we could track them no one would do it...and no one will use it properly...people are getting negged for no reason.

Why wouldn't they rep/neg? lol...I still would.

The only problem is when there's trolling with it - if there was a way to implement this, then they wouldn't use it wrong because the mods would know who was doing it.

Knowing who reps you might work out.. but negs wouldn't because the person who got negged might have tension towards who negged them and then we will be seeing neg battles daily...

I think it would be better if Negs didn't effect your reps.

Regular users shouldn't know - just mods and Frankie. That way there isn't any tension.
