Hopsins Production Empty Hopsins Production

Although I believe his production has improved and that he has always had an ear for instrumentals I think it's about time he started experimenting outside of FL, while his beats sounds really cool and you can definitely tell what hes going for I believe those same beats would sound way better than how they do on FL. Not only would instrumentals sounds cleaner but there are less limitations musically allowing him to show more of his potential. The thing is, he makes a lot of different beats and yet all I think about is f loops, I can just tell. I'm not saying FL is bad or anything because it's a good tool to start opening up with your production but far on into your career I recommend upgrading for the good of improvement.

I know he mentioned protools in that interview by the way.

I am quite surprised he still uses FL honestly.

Nah man it's that keyboard he uses not FL. The keyboard is where he gets his sounds from besides his drums. FL isn't a bad beat program at all. It all depends on where you get your sounds from. A lot of the best producers use it, 9th wonder, Lex Luger, Hit-Boy.

And he was talking about upgrading to Pro tools for recording vocals. He used Adobe Audition for Knock Madness and Cool Edit Pro 2.0 for everything else.

Haha yea I know I wasn't implying that you said FL is bad when I said "FL is not bad at all", I was just saying that it won't make a difference if he were to use any other program to make beats.

It does make a difference, Dr Dre would say so and other producers too.. sure you can make dope beats with it but that instrumental would have a lot more potential and there are more possibilities.
You should not be able to tell where a beat was made off the bat coming from an experienced artist.

Hopsin shouldn't produce his next album IMO. He needs to try some new sounding beats. Even though the beats on KM were an improvement, they still sound the same and have that same feel.

Also, not having to worry about making beats would help him to get an album out faster and focus on writing lyrics.

What are the differences though? And I never know where a beat is made off of untill I hear the producer say the program they use haha.

I wish he would let others produce for him too but if hes going to do it himself I think he should make an upgrade because you are not the only one that hears the "same feel" in the instrumentals.
