New Feature On Youtube

I just noticed... next to where you type in your comment for a video, there is a new "reaction" button where you can choose between a few selections.

I personally think it is absolutely pointless.

If you're logged into youtube, click the link and scroll down to the window where you would type in your comment. Directly to the right of that window there is a box that you can click and select from things like - this video is"classic, funny, incredible" etc.

By the looks of things Australian's don't get this feature? Weird... how long has this been up for?

Only since this morning. I'm trying to "host the image" on here so you can see it but everytime I click upload it takes me back to the password screen.

Hmm, yeah it's not on my screen. They must be testing it out for U.S. YouTube first? It does seem pretty pointless.

Yeah I dont know whats up with that. But honestly it's just another button to clutter the page and it is not needed.

It probably went something like this -

Youtube Department For Continuous Development:

Manager: "Everyone listen up... we have to justify our paychecks and launch a new feature for the site"

Employee: "Dude... like, how about a button that basically lets you comment... WITHOUT commenting!!!"

....

Manager: "GENUIS!"

Basically YouTube trying to pass themselves off as 'cooler' and 'trendier'. Completely pointless when theres 6 of them to choose from and you already have a like button, a dislike button, and a comment section.
