Hopsin Stans
Mon 5 Nov 2012 - 14:40
I came to grips with the fact that I shouldn't care about Hopsins facebook statuses / twitter / Interviews so much... we always try to break down everything he says or flip it back on him. Why? Why do we even care so much? It got to the point where I actually had a dream about Hopsin. I killed him in the dream, so no homo, but still... that's some bizarre shit. I'm actually kind of embarassed that I have spent so much time stuck on this guys nuts. If you go back through some of our older pages, we have 10 - 20 page threads discussing a single facebook status that he probably thought up in about 30 seconds. It's just..... weird. It's like we are more focused on Hopsins personal life than the music... and the music is what brought us all here in the 1st place. When you think of a Stan, you think of someone who is obsessed with an artist in a positive manner. But just because we criticize him often, I don't think that changes our title... we've all focused an extraordinary amount of time on Hopsin. In a way, doesn't that make us all Stans?

ITT: Maxmimus comes out. JK playa. I try to steer clear of those types of threads. I agree with the post. People are all the same, the only thing that separates us is what we're doing. Hop and the rest of FV make great music. That's why I'm on these forums, that's what I take my time to discuss. The music. I don't ever get into bits about someone's personal issues or personality, maybe with the exception of Jokerr. I guess I'm just a Jokerr Stan.

Who the hell is this Hopsin guy everyone keeps talking about? Is he a rapper or something because I don't like rap music.
But in all seriousness, I feel you. I realized that I shouldn't really look up to and worry about rappers, even if they are great people and someone you would call a "role model". I do sometimes find what they are doing interesting because their music has touched me (no homo) in a way that I feel like I know them when I really don't KNOW them, but you know what I'm sayin.Anyways I don't really CARE about what they do in their personal life, I just find it interesting because of who they are and the music they have made.

I feel you. I started out listening to Hopsins music and being very impressed, to using Hopsin as a role model for my own music. But then I got involved in all these other aspects of Hopsin / FV, and all these debates and discussions with everyone else... and at the end of the day, it's wasted time. It's all pointless speculation. I'm not saying we should stop following Hopsin, but we should stop analyzing things so much.

I agree, the music he makes is for our entertainment not his personal life.

because he is semi-famous. People want more than just entertainment. Hopsin is about to blow up we just recognized his talent first(before a lotta people). It's just not enough listening to his music we want to know him in person, we wanna know what the fuck his fav porn star is. Some fans want more than others.
But I agree that some people take his statusses/tweets/w.e. too serious.

I think one of the reasons why people care so much about his personal life is because it most likely interferes with his ability to put out music on a consistent basis (Which he has not).

Intrastin concept, lettuce disregard Passion's pictures & statuses & just mire his gawdly rapping?
The concept of disregarding an artists personal beliefs, thoughts, his image, etc & only caring for the music is a wonderful thing tbh.

Then why isn't there the same interest for SwizZz? Hop is more famous so obv. people suddenly "feel like they can relate to hop" and lawl "u got a dog too?".Buddie wrote:I think one of the reasons why people care so much about his personal life is because it most likely interferes with his ability to put out music on a consistent basis (Which he has not).
But some on here did that even before he got really famous. But I guess it's just interesting to know how the celebrities live. We adore hop and feel like we should have some personal info outta him and it's like we own him a little and he should be thankful for that and give us something in return. Its stupid and shouldn't be like that but I just feel it's like that. Dunno if you disagree.

No, I agree with you. We're fans of Hopsin, not just his music. When you know more about your favorite artist's personal life then it makes you enjoy that person's music even more.
And the reason there isn't the same interest for SwizZz is because he doesn't tell any of his fans about his personal life. Think about how little we know about SwizZz compared to Hopsin.
