Biggie sampling Snoop Dogg?

In the intro to Ready to Die, I just realized that biggie samples Snoop Dogg's "Tha Shiznit". I don't get it, why would he sample a west coast song, near the start of the east vs west feud???? especially at a time when the west was blowing the fuck up

Snoop and Biggie were real close...They were homies after Pac got shot the first time...Thats why Pac was all heated and kinda lost touch with Snoop and Dre for the last year before he died.

the intro for ready to die was to show the growth of biggie as well as hip hop at the time thats why in the beginning he is being born and they were playing superfly. as time went on it show the evolution of biggie as well as hip hop. that intro to this day is one of my favorites

This is on point. Snoop and Big were tight, as snoop's said on several occasions. I'd sample my friend, it would be cool lol. As far as Pac losing touch with them. I feel like he was off balance, going crazy or some shit before he died. At times I've felt that same edgy feel and I can just see it in him during his latter years.

Though, I'm sure Big wasn't worrying of the "Coast beef". I seriously feel like it was media fueled, and fan induced. He was simply looking at his album from an artistic stand-point. I'm sure it didn't even cross his mind. He probably wasn't like, "Oh uhh, nigga dis shit got a west coast nigga on it. Can't sample."

Biggie was so fat he was both East & West coast.
