Quentin Tarantino.
There are a lot of great directors that I like, to be honest. It's hard to choose just one, but Tarantino would definitely be up there.

I need to mention Nolan even though he's not my fav.
My all time favourite is
I love Gaspar NoƩ as well.
But the winner of my personal list is Martin Scorsese. Those scenes in Goodfellas...
@ waiting for people to say peter jackson

Kill Bill is really a great action movie and it has everything a good movie should have even though the killing is a little unrealistic. Why don't they just have guns instead of swords or other random weapons? But Pulp Fiction is all of the things Kill Bill is just with more.
If you think Pulp Fiction is worse than Kill Bill & Inglorious Bastards you need to get negged. (but I dont neg you tho) js.
Pulp Fiction is one of the best movies EVER even though it's not one of my personal favourites.

The deaths/kills in Kill Bill are pretty much supposed to be like what you stated, plain silly at times they're. You should definitely look more into the Yakuza/asian cinema in general as far as action films go, Chokey. You'll understand where the influence(s) come from with both volumes of Kill Bill much better.
The fountains of blood just coming out of a persons limb when it gets cut off in the films is pretty much like anime - the violent anime, that is. He, Tarantino, pulled it off greatly in my opinion... as far as all of that goes.
I still prefer Pulp Fiction, though.

I am not on the japanese/chinese market cause I honestly dunno what's good and what's not. The only movie I want to watch that I know is Ichi the Killer.Frankie wrote:The deaths/kills in Kill Bill are pretty much supposed to be like what you stated, plain silly at times they're. I didn't really expect anyone to mention Quentin Tarantino... that's exactly who I was going to list.
Has everyone here seen "From Dusk Til Dawn"? If not, kill yourself. But 1st watch that fucking movie. It's amazing.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Alfred Hitchcock.
Maybe, ya'll don't like old films but that dude is not only a pioneer but a genius in terms of direction.
Big Hitchcock fan.
And John Carpenter.
I actually believe one of the best twists of all time was in, The Mist, the Stephen King film.
