It could most definitely be fake. But I don't think him being calm has anything to do with it at all.

I used to hang out with a really bad kid (he's now serving life in prison for 1st degree murder, he shot a guy in the chest). He was a clepto and would steal shit everywhere we went. He was always 100% calm and relaxed.
