FML!!! (Rant)

So I forked out $300 for Final Cut Pro X last night.

I looked through the feature list and it's all pretty good...

Then I try to open a 7 second clip and add text, ok...

But when I try to stream / preview my work, the whole program lags out and stops responding. And when it does work it skips like a bitch.

I can't even imagine what would happen if I tried to edit an entire project in there.

This makes no sense, this program is supposed to be the UPGRADE of iMovie, which I have - and that runs perfectly when streaming / previewing a clip.

So now i'm out of $300 and I really cant even use the program.

Im tellin ya get away from the Macs....but if I were you I'd take my shit down to Best Buy and have the geeky dudes look at it...might cost another 100 or so, but they'd get it workin for u for sure

I'm gonna go to Best Buy after work today and see if they have a 4gb ram chip for around $100 that is compatable with my macbook. I guess while i'm there I'll talk to the tech dudes and see if they can look at it for me. This shit sucks.

aren't mac's supposed to be good for this kind of stuff? as well as with photoshop..

yeah... it makes no sense. I have iMovie and it streams my HD video footage without any skipping at all. If I open the same content in Final Cut Pro it will hardly even stream a 10 second clip with text added to it. It's literally impossible to use right now.

Ouch, that ain't right, 410. I have a MacBook and it works perfect for that kind of stuff (even though I don't use it much). Photoshop CS5 is what I mainly use on it.

Ok so I bought 2 Kingston 4GB RAM cards and I should have them in about 2 - 5 days.

My Macbook Pro already has 4gb, so that would make 12gb total IF there are 2 extra ram slots in my macbook. And i'm not sure there is... but I saw lots of peopel tlaking about macbooks and installing 2 extra ram cards so i'm hoping thats a universal thing.

Yeahh bro, you'll need more RAM if it is skippin and jumpin
