haha, a lot of this reminded me about how a few guys on here said how when Hopsin talks he says some clever stuff but the way it comes out is so weird and almost childish. So true

Childish -exactly, that is his strenght.

 (I feel like it's the right moment for me to do a little analysis and synthesis as well on Hopsin coz I've been wandering a lot about his phenomenon and this is what I got, watch out :D)

His biggest virtue is definitelly sincerity, childlike sincerity. People always believe and trust children coz they embody innocence, the truth as opposed to the adulthood and lies. Hopsin's lyrics aren't extremely deep (sorry Hop :D) but that's the point, he's talking about simple things in a simple way and when we combine this with his immature image what do we get? - sincerity or hip hop 'realness' if you prefer. 


There's also one more key factor to his relatively fast rise to fame and booming popularity, he 'd done his homework very well, the Eminem homework. Hopsin was like Eminem, an underdog, mocked, laughed at, disrespected, never had gangsta image, at the same time he has a powerfull urge to express his feeling, to rap. So what does he do? - the same stuff as all archetypical heroes, he enters his catabasis - the underworld where he symbolically faces his demons, fears to battle them and finally come out victorious - it's a bit like an initiation ritual to become a man. And Hopsin did become a man but at the same time conserving the best childish qualities. 


That's what makes him so different from all stereotypical and cliche gangsta or fake gangsta type of rappers. He wasn't afraid to say: fuck you all, you ain't real, I am real although I don't do drugs and don't shoot people, I'm not afraid to show my weaknesses and admit to them. And then all people who felt in similar way finally found a strong role model they could really identify with, without faking without pretending to be someone else, they thought - fuck, that's exactly what I feel, if he succeded I can do that too, that's what Hopsin stressed himself speaking bout Eminem and thus the history repeated itself. The only danger is that one can't ride on the 'outcast breaking through flow' forever coz one day he'll cease to be an outcast and become a mainstream celebrity and that's where the real battle will begin.
