I agree with everything you said. However, even though Ill Mind 5 is overrated, it's still a very good song and is easily in his Top 10 best songs.

The fact of the matter is that Hopsin just doesn't have that same drive he used to have when he was an unknown rapper. Hopsin has made it now and has accomplished his dreams and he just doesn't like to rap anymore. It's just not something that he enjoys. He likes to skate, hang with his girl, and talk to his fans, but he no longer enjoys making music.

But he realizes that rap is the only way he'll ever be able to make money and keep a roof over his head so he is now forced to keep making music.

Being a Hopsin fan is not exactly easy when he only releases one or two songs a year. It's been about two years since RAW was released and it will most likely be another year (possibly more) before Knock Madness is released.

I sort of agree with what you said. I dont think Hopsin is using touring as an excuse, it really does cut into his time. Also he works on it alot to make beats sounds clean and the best ones. Another thing is that maybe stuff that has to do with his real life had to cut studio time from him because he had to deal with it. He is off the tour in about 10 days or so, he has the beat for his 2nd single done, so maybe when he comes back he will record the lyrics, mix it together, then release it by sometime in January.

Congrats! Might as well get of the forums. And why do you assume he probably can't spit anymore, he hasn't even released a lyrical song this year. He obviously still can spit if you heard tge Teambackpack Cypher recently. Lastly, it's not Hopsin's fault he's on tour it's Dames. While waiting for a new song listen to a different artist.

Hopsin is not your average Hip Hop artist, firstly, he has to make a decent beat that will suit his style and potentially make a song more successful, then he has to think up clever, original lyrics that will get people listening and impressed, then doing the strenuous task of mixing it to professional quality.

Being an MC myself, (obviously not as successful), I can relate to rapping being a diffuclt process, then again I nevcer get writers block....

Take into account those factors, homie.
I know what you mean though, its really frustarating, but MarKiss is only human, he will never be a workaholic like Tupac was or something like that, the way he's going.

I think that's how it goes. Everytime I'm waiting on new music from my current favorite artist, I begin to concentrate on other artists. When Eminem "stopped" in 2006, I started to get to know a lot of other rappers and I'm very thankful for that.

Hopsin is the rapper who wants to be undeground so he can claim that the mainstream is bullshit. When he can complain about how fucked the world is and the role models is fucked up he is at his best. But when he becomes a role model and he becomes mainstream it changed him. Since he now really believe in god he had this idea bout being a god role model, not the role model he standed for. I dunno why he made Hop Madness - nor does many of his fans and he said it was not good himself.
I think it scares him that he has to be a role model. He cannot be that weird fap-talking, antisocial outcast he've always been. It fucks his life up and he cannot take the pressure from himself. Try some of Dizzy's weed, feel comftable and write some music Hop. I think it would help tbh.

I understand, I really don't care about anything Hop is doing untill KM drops anymore. So untill then, I'm gonna focus on Dizzy,Jarren,(SwizZz doesn't make any music either), and then J.Cole's new album, and Jon Connor's new mixtape. Then Food And Liquor 2 pt. 2 in the Spring. It's sad that he has so much buzz, and new fans, but has no new music at all, because he could get so much bigger if he took advantage of the situation. But it's his life, and mostly his decisions, so if he doesn't want to right now It's not my right to rush him.(that doesn't mean that I can't want new music from him being a fan, or be dissapointed that he isnt making any. Just honestly don't care)

You can only like an artist if they constantly release stuff? That's fuckin' stupid.

Either you like the music he releases or you don't, how often it's released shouldn't matter. It's not like you're an investor.

Hopsin is in control just as much as dame is. Contrary to popular belief, hopsin does have a spine. He's in charge of his decisions.

This statement is very true. However, I never seemed to grasp why Hopsin doesn't have control over everything being that it is his label that he built from the ground up.

Of course Dame should have some say in the label, but I think Hopsin should have most of the control over the label.

The thing is he doesn't want most control... that would mean extra responsibility and he has a LOT as it is.

What are Hopsin's choices?

He has a booking agent, he has a PR person, he has Dame who makes the booking agent book shows, all he's really got to worry about is making music. Dame does the accounting. Hopsin doesn't produce heavily for any of the FV camp nor does he write for any of them. He doesn't direct their videos, so again what choices does Hopsin have to make?

Far as I can tell, he's got life on easy street. All he's got to do is make songs and show up for every event he's booked for. He can make songs left and right, but he works slow as a snail. It's not just due to the touring that he's slow. He's always been like that song wise. When Hopsin told me the # of total songs he's done, I was even a little surprised considering how long he's been at it. His work ethic will never be equivocal to 2Pac, but his the strength of his body of work will if he shapes up like I'm hoping.

To all of the fans who are getting impatient with Hopsin, maybe you guys should wait another year, and then hopefully he'll have a decent product to show for.
